Media & Medium Agnostic Solutions

At BPG, we believe clients are looking for solutions, not services. The best solutions are those that tackle the true essence of a problem without any preconceived notions on the best way to arrive there. At BPG, our integrated approach of providing services inherently leads to agnostic solutions, from both a media and medium approach.

Integration is a key fundamental in how we deliver game-changing marketing solutions to our clients. The conventional approach is for clients to enlist the services of specialist vendors who provide separate solutions. The client then collates all the solutions and attempts to choose one that best serves their needs. It’s a process that leads to varying degrees of success.

The BPG Integrated practice is the other approach. It is based on the belief that the integration of talents and services within a single agency can lead to game-changing marketing solutions.
At BPG, we don’t just pay lip service to integration. It is in our DNA. We have built it into the very process of our business model. The blueprint for integration is the organisational structure we have developed based on Pods. The BPG Pods are individual units that include teams from disciplines in advertising, public relations, strategy, activation, branding & design, digital, and media. The single-minded focus of each Pod is to provide clients with game-changing marketing solutions with a single-window integrated approach to problem solving and solution delivery. This concept of a single brand team with cross-functional marketing acumen translates into immense value for clients who are looking for cost-effective and focused integrated solutions.

Our integrated model breaks down the walls of silo service delivery so that we are able to deliver true media and medium agnostic solutions. A client brief might call for a print ad, but our media agnostic approach might possibly discover that a social media engagement idea might achieve the desired results. The client might request a press conference, but maybe an activation initiative through different media channels might be able to help them reach their audience more effectively.

Another part of the integrated process at BPG is how we tackle client challenges. Our strategic and creative thinking starts with a proprietary process that we call the 4i Thought Kit.

The 4i Thought Kit
The process for solving any problem is well and truly universal. Firstly, understand the problem. Then, re-frame the problem. Next, develop a set of hypothetical solutions. Test the solutions and implement the best one. Finally, constantly fine-tune the solution on the basis of feedback. This is how business works. And this is the crux of 4i. The process is discipline and medium agnostic while deploying best-in-class tools and methodologies to develop solutions that work. Here’s a quick glance at 4i.

Stage 1 is Inquiry or Problem Definition. Inquiry allows a problem to be broken down into a set of manageable sub-problems that suggest the solution.

Stage 2 is Insight or Strategy Definition. There are three tools we utilise for this stage, some of which are discipline specific. Insight Triangles are a tool to help frame the issues across three spectrums; business, brand and consumer & culture. The Brand Wheel is advertising focused and is a tool that that helps develop an ‘essence’ of the brand that is used for creative briefing. The Key Message House is a public relations tool for arriving at the key messages a company or organisation should communicate. The end result of these Stage 2 tools is a Media Agnostic Brief.

Stage 3 is Invention or Communication Development. In addition to the skill of our creative people, there are three tools to facilitate invention. Times, places and spaces. Engagement mapping. And story plotting. The output is the solution that we present to our clients.

Stage 4 is Implementation or Roll-out and Measurement. The objective is to not only deliver but also to measure effectiveness. And consequently, learn from the solution. We know this and we do it really well. It makes us sharper, and re-positions us with our clients.

Abdulla Majed Al Ghurair

Chairman, BPG Group since 1985

Abdulla has been at the helm of BPG Group since his late father handed over the reins to him in 1985. A third generation member of a prominent business family, Abdulla brings an acute understanding of local culture and business acumen to the Group. Other companies he owns cover a broad spectrum of industries such as education, construction, manufacturing ceramic tiles and building materials, leasing & services, trading and food. He also serves on the boards of Majid Al Futtaim Properties and is the Chairman of Majid Al Futtaim Charity Foundation, Abdulla & Hamad Al Ghurair Investment LLC and Innoventures Educational Investments LLC.

Toby Hoare

Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of JWT Europe
Board member of BPG since 2000


Toby is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of JWT Europe, CEO of Team HSBC within WPP, and a board member of BPG Group. In his role at JWT, Toby oversees all the marketing services provided to HSBC by JWT and other WPP agencies across nearly 80 countries. Prior to this, Toby worked with Cordiant (before it was acquired by WPP in 2003) as Group Chairman of Bates for Europe, Middle East, India and Africa. Here Toby was responsible for re-engineering the agency both internally and externally. He achieved a number of major new business wins and was largely responsible for creating a new business ethos for Bates called the ‘Return on Imagination’ - delivering creativity and solutions in a focused and imaginative manner that brought major returns for clients and their business.

Andrew Scott

Board Director since 2003


Since 1999 Andrew has been WPP’s Director of Corporate Development leading the Group’s global Mergers and Acquisition activity. In this role he is responsible for managing the large number of strategic acquisitions made by WPP each year to help position the group in faster-growing functional and geographic areas.

Andrew also leads WPP's International Specialist Communications Division which contains businesses in a diverse range of marketing services sectors – Promotion and Relationship Marketing, Sports Marketing, Custom Publishing and Media, Technology and Production Services.

Prior to joining WPP Andrew was a strategy consultant at LEK Consulting. He holds an MBA with distinction from INSEAD.

Avishesha Bhojani

Group Chief Executive Officer, BPG Group since 1991

Avi’s 32-year career spans Marketing Services, Media, Private Equity and Government sectors. At the helm of the BPG Network since 1991, Avi consolidates the Group’s interests across advertising, public advocacy, public relations, design, activation, media asset management and digital verticals, in the Middle East and North Africa regions. He has also successfully assisted in the conceptualisation and implementation of a number of key Dubai initiatives.

Avishesha Bhojani

Clark Williams

Executive Director, BPG Group

Clark Williams is an Executive Directors of BPG Group, where he runs the operations of BPG Group’s offices in both Abu Dhabi and Doha, Qatar while also managing business development across the lower Gulf.

Clark began his advertising career 20 years ago as Client Services Director for Bates Saatchi & Saatchi in Romania, eventually becoming Managing Director of the Bates operation in that market. Prior to BPG, Clark headed up sales and marketing for an international engineering firm in the United States.

Clark is a three-year Board member of the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) Abu Dhabi. He has a Bachelor’s degree from DePauw University, Greencastle, IN and a Master’s Degree in International Business Administration from Alliant University, San Diego, CA.

Nitin Puri

Chief Executive Officer; BPG PR & BPG Possible

Nitin oversees the public relations and digital practices at BPG Group.

A 27-year advertising journey has seen him work in five cities across four countries; India, UAE, Indonesia and Oman. He started his career with the FCB agency in India and then worked with Interface (now Publicis) and Lintas before coming to Dubai in 1993. Nitin moved to Jakarta a decade later and headed Bates Indonesia for four years, followed by a short stint in Muscat. He succumbed to the lure of BPG and Dubai once again in 2008.

Nitin has represented India in Table Tennis and is now an avid, if not particularly skilled, golfer. Nitin is an Economics Graduate from St. Stephen’s College, and did his MBA at the Faculty of Management Studies, Delhi University.

Faheem Ahamed

Chief Executive Officer; BPG Bates

Faheem oversees BPG Bates, leading the main advertising groups from the agency’s Dubai headquarters.

Faheem has extensive experience in brand, attitudes and perception management. He has 16 years of experience in cross-cultural marketing solutions spanning Asia, Australia and the Middle East. He is an Economics graduate and an MBA in Strategic Management from Australia.

Satish Mayya

Chief Operating Officer, BPG Maxus

Satish has worked with a number of leading media companies in India and the Middle East. Of his 20 years in the region, Satish has spent most of his tenure with BPG Media where he has played a key role in transforming BPG Media into one of the prominent and leading media buying and planning outfits in the region, leading to the successful strategic alliance with Maxus in 2009 to create BPG Maxus.

Satish has a B.A. in Business Management from Bangalore University and a Master’s Degree in Business Management from Bombay University.

Prakash Chandrabalan

Chief Financial Officer, BPG Group

Prakash is the CFO at BPG Group, where he is responsible for Group-wide financial policies, financial controls, Partnership/ Joint Venture relations, investment decisions as well oversight of some of the SBUs of the Group.

As part of financial responsibility, Prakash manages the group budgeting, cash flow and treasury management, pricing decisions and reporting to various stakeholders. He actively manages significant partnership and consortium relationships by providing commercial expertise as well as accountability and transparency on the transaction.

A certified accountant from the UK and a Chartered Accountant from India, Prakash has over 15 years of experience including over 10 years in the marketing communications industry.

Fiona Quinn

Country Manager, BPG Kuwait

Fiona currently runs BPG Kuwait, BPG Group second largest office outside of Dubai, leading a highly experienced team of marketing communications professionals that deliver seamless integrated solutions for a range of key clients across multiple industries including retail, finance, electronics and leisure. With over 15 years of experience, she has an extensive background in marketing, advertising and public relations.

A Kuwait veteran, having lived in the country for over 35 years, Fiona received her Bachelor’s degree in Business Studies from the University of Westminster, London.

Kevin Hasler

General Manager, BPG PR

Kevin is a highly experienced communications professional with over 20-years experience in journalism and public relations including over 10 years working in the Gulf. He started his career as a newspaper journalist in the UK working for newspapers in England and Wales before moving into public relations. He has worked for some of the world’s leading public relations and communications groups including Bell Pottinger, Burson Marsteller, Mmd/Grayling, Hill & Knowlton and most recently Ketchum with whom he worked in a broad range of international markets including the UK, UAE, Serbia, Slovenia, Hungary, Kuwait, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and most recently the Sultanate of Oman. A corporate communications specialist, Kevin also delivers media training, crisis communications and PR training. During his PR career he has also acquired extensive experience in the water and waste water business in the UK and the Middle East.
