1980 : Late Majed Ahmed Al Ghurair starts PanGulf Publicity
1982 : Pangulf Publicity hires the first copywriter in the UAE
1988 : Pangulf Publicity is the first agency to purchase a Mac in the UAE
1992 : Pangulf Publicity wins 11 out of 23 at the International Advertising (IAA) GCC Advertising Awards
1995: Dubai Shopping Festival is launched, a game-changing idea that is assisted by Pangulf Publicity
1995 : PanGulf Publicity creates 4 SBUs: PanGulf Advertising, PanGulf Public Relations, PanGulf Direct and PanGulf Strategy
1998 : PanGulf divests a substantial minority stake to Cordiant Communications Group (holding company of Bates Worldwide) and rebrands itself as Bates PanGulf
1999 : Dubai Internet City is launched, with assistance from Bates PanGulf
2000 : Bates PanGulf sets up office in Kuwait
2003 : Bates PanGulf launches Healthworld PanGulf, an affiliate of Ogilvy Healthworld and the first specialist healthcare marketing practice in the region
2003 : Cordiant Communications Group is acquired by WPP
2004 : Alliance with London-based Bell Pottinger Group, an international communications group, is formed
2006 : Bates PanGulf celebrates 25 years
2006 : Bates PanGulf Public Relations handles all communications for the Doha Asian Games, the largest PR contract in the GCC
2007 : Bates PanGulf rebrands itself as BPG – an ambition to expand beyond PanGulf
2009 : BPG Media forms strategic alliance with Maxus, GroupM’s global media agency of the year, to become BPG Maxus
2011 : BPG Possible, a joint venture between BPG Group and Possible Worldwide – an interactive marketing agency, that is part of the WPP Digital network – is formed
2012 : After seven years of operations BPG Iraq was officially registered with branches in Baghdad & Erbil
2012 : BPG Qatar receives commercial license for full-fledged operations in Doha
